Owner Profile
Steve
Groeneweg attended Lawrence Institute of Technology,
and in 1977, he ventured into the residential construction
industry as a self-employed subcontractor. Over the next
four years, Steve began developing a solid reputation throughout
the greater Grand Rapids area for his consistent quality
of work and attention to detail in the framing and trim
carpentry field. It was at this time in his life that Steve
made a definite decision to devote himself to becoming a
diligent student of his craft and industry.
Steves ability to do quality work
landed him an important position with Erhardt Construction
Company, doing the trim and case work for Amway Grand Plaza,
which lasted from 1981 through 1984. The scope of this work
included numerous high profile projects such as the front
desk, the grand ballroom, and detail work from the 7th through
the 22nd floors. After completing this project, Steve was
sought after to do work for other commercial contractors
in the area like Owens-Ames-Kimball, the largest in greater
West Michigan.
In 1985, Steve made a major decision to
leave commercial work and focus on subcontracting projects
in the residential field. Then in 1987 he dedicated his
business to dealing directly with clients as a contractor
where he began building his reputation and referral business
with his many highly satisfied and loyal residential clients
who remain so to this day. Steve has been married to his
wife, Claudia, since 1974 and he has five children.
